We, the Balam Jungle Hardwood Company (BJHC), are the direct exporter of exotic woods and burls from the Balam Jungle Estates, 86,000+ acres located in the Corozal District of Northern Belize, Central America.

Since 1994, our team, representing the current stakeholders of the Balam Jungle Estates, have been pro-active participants in the development of the Balam Jungle Estates for the betterment of Belize and its people. After managing this asset for over a decade, an enormous amount of time, effort, money, and planning has been invested into bringing about the preservation and revitalization of this asset while also visibly pushing forward with development initiatives on this massive piece of land. The product of our efforts has been the design of a well calculated, comprehensive subdivision plan, with pertinent research that constantly takes into account the diverse ecosystems that are the very breath of life for this property.

Our subdivision plan has identified approx. 40,000+ acres of prime timberland for sustainable timber harvest operations. Rich in both flora and fauna, the forested area boasts some of the finest mahogany on earth, which, however, is just one specie in a spectrum of abundant and highly figured exotic hardwood species found in this region.

After refreshing our Timber Inventory in 2003 and carefully considering the critical environmental regions identified in our Subdivision & Forest Management Plans, we decided to launch our own timber harvesting operation in 2004 and since then have continued to expand the scope of operations and our processing capabilities to be as efficient as possible.
